Bridgeport resident Arnaldo Camacho, 30, pleaded guilty to one count of risking injury to a child and voyeurism this week, alleging that he got the wrong bathroom stall, according to reports. He faces up to two years in prison following the plea.

On June 19 last year, police responded to the mall after a man reported that his son had been secretly photographed while using a bathroom. At the time of officers’ arrival, Camacho was in the custody of the man, who was holding them until police arrived at the scene.

Police said that the teen said he had gone to the bathroom and was in a stall when he noticed a cellphone pointed at him from the stall’s divider. When the minor came out of his stall, he found Camacho holding the same phone, standing in the bathroom. He notified his father, who apprehended Camacho.

According to investigators, Camacho alleged that he had arranged to meet a man on a cellphone app to take the video, but had gotten the wrong bathroom stall. He further alleged that he had deleted any photos or videos.

Officers checked his phone, found no photos of the child, but did find videos of other men sitting on toilets in bathroom stalls.
